Technology to influence the wind
The exoHOUSING is designed to influence wind flow and provide a protective cover for the exoPOWER turbines.
The exoHOUSING enhances the efficiency of the wind by channelling it onto the sails of the exoPOWER turbines. The exoHOUSING is designed to speed the wind by compressing it when the wind load is low and slow the wind by expanding it when the wind load is too high.
In cases of hurricanes, tornadoes or typhoons, the exoHOUSING has the options available for controlling the airflow and/or shutting down completely. This aids in prevention of any damage to the exoPOWER turbine(s).
Additionally, the exoHOUSING has the designed benefit of reducing or eliminating birds and other projectiles from striking the exoPOWER turbine sails.
Typically, wind speed is better at higher heights than it is at ground level. As such, the SP Power Farm Group has designed the exoTOWER for the exoPOWER turbines and exoHOUSING to be raised and supported above ground level to capture better wind sources.
Aside from optimizing ambient wind loads, commercial/industrial space is created within the walls of the exoTOWER. The space can be utilized for a number of different applications, including, but not limited to installation of energy storage facilities, clean water generation, vertical farming, biofuels generation, etc.
